It’s winter break! After a vacation in Las Vegas and Death Valley, I concluded my break with an art therapy session with Alzheimer’s patients. This time, I was able to collect some data regarding the cognitive test. The activity that I prepared was inspired by Awilda, the art stuff at the center. She is extremely friendly and welcoming of any questions that I have. The abstract hand drawing involves fine motor skills, such as tracing one’s hand onto paper and drawing straight and curvy lines without any tools. For the next art session, I will continue with the cognitive testing and try to schedule an interview with an expert on art therapy for neurodegenerative diseases.
